2)This video was posted almost a year ago – when pricing was only slightly more stable. Sellers ultimately decide what price they will list their house for. We as Realtors must help them understand where their house should be priced based on the market, and we have the right to refuse listing the house if they want to sell it for too high. Pricing a house in the current market is a crap shoot.

@leftliberal You make some good points. Let me try to respond:
    1) Granite countertops – yeah, they’re everywhere, but considering the alternatives like formica and Corian, granite just has a better look. A lot of the “granite” you see is actually not granite, but a quartz material that has the same characteristics, but is much less expensive.

Ahh the proverbial granite countertops! Granite countertops are so painfully common now in kitchens they are what vinyl seating was in the 1970′s. There are more houses with “Granite countertops” than ever. But that doesnt stop the Realtors from marketing them like they are some kind of rare hot ticket item. Who wants a kitchen with granite countertops? Any takers?

    You realtors just …
You realtors just don’t get it. The prices were bid up to historic unsustainable levels. The biggest in RE bubble HISTORY. You are so determined to fight that by insisting on offering these exorbiant prices that are nowhere NEAR the real price of the market. A house that is worth 200k rose to 800k. You are selling it for 700k and actually expect people to think it’s some sort of a deal.
