I live in Johnston County, NC and plan to stay in the area. Closest towns are Benson, Dunn, Smithfield, and Four Oaks. I go to school and then work, so I can’t really drive around to look for them. If anybody has any help for me or knows anybody that I can call I would greatly appreciate it.

Easiest? Call a property management company. Best? Find properties for sale in the neighborhoods you want to live. Approach the owners about leasing their property. You will be surprised how many people in great neighborhoods will lease their home to you.

Check with a local recommended realtor, try online- yahoo real estate and other sites, and check your local assessor’s office for tax sales. You can sometimes find a good deal with the tax sales. If you’re buying always be sure to visit your local Building dept and inquire about the permit history to make sure everything there is legal. Good luck.
